I like sharing events that a creative, authentic and kind community – such as the one we’ve built here at Let ME Out!! – would find worthwhile. It just so happens that this week I have 3 to share with you so I’m linking up with Pink Chai Living, Love Laugh Mirch and The Write Balance for #3ThingsThursday. If you’re a blogger and have 3 things to share, please join us! Visit any of the hosts’ sites and drop your link! One: Brush Calligraphy Basics
I was hanging out on Instagram, minding my own business…(no I wasn’t, I was creeping people’s feeds)…and stumbled upon the account for Justine Hwang of @itjustflows. What caught my eye, besides the beautiful lettering and colours of her posts, was her profile: Sparking change + community through calligraphy + handlettering. I clicked onto her website and was blown away by this brilliant idea. The Social Calligraphy Collective holds workshops every couple of months to fuel the art of calligraphy – and 100% of proceeds benefit nonprofits dedicated to ending sexual exploitation in Vancouver and around the world. Check out their FAQ page for more info.
I wish I could make their workshop on September 26. High on my wish list of skills to learn is handlettering, and the fact that this also has a charity aspect makes it extra appealing so hopefully I can make the next one. If you happen to go, let me know – I’d love to hear about it!
Two: TEDx Vancouver
Some of you may know about my love for TED. If you don’t know: I love TED. I watch talks to help me unwind at night. Paired with some dark chocolate, this has made for some divine evenings. I also watch talks to psych me up, motivate me to think outside the box, believe in my ideas and share messages I value. So, when I heard that info was already out about TEDx Vancouver I checked it out.
You can sign up for email updates and watch their trailer here – and save the date: Saturday November 14, 2015.
Three: The Goddess Experience
Back in April, I met Seryna Myers at the Thriving Moms event and loved her sweet personality. Her company Pampered Goddess was a sponsor and handed out some pretty amazing swag. (Friendly nudge: Go check out her products.) So when Seryna told me about The Goddess Experience, a 3-day retreat in Agassiz B.C. focused on care, community and connection for women, I was intrigued. It sounds like there is something for all the different parts of you: shamanic ceremonies, yoga, creative workshops, heart-centred conversations and more. Check out the linked graphic below, and if you are interested, grab a ticket with code TASLIMTGE and get $50 off.
That’s all on my end for now – what’s happening in your world this week? Is there an event coming up you think the Let ME Out!! community would be interested in? Drop me a line or leave a comment below. Thanks for reading!
All three sound like great events. I actually got to attend the last goddess experience and it was a good experience! Happy to have you linking up to 3 Things Thursday!
Thanks, Salma! <3
Thank you so much for sharing the calligraphy workshop information 🙂 I am going to head over to their site right now and check out the timing and see if I can do it!
