About Me

Hello! I’m Taslim – the introverted mom of 3 children (which can get interesting), lit-lover, and lifelong learner behind the blog.

I’m a West Coast wanderer who loves to travel…but nothing beats returning home to the beautiful natural landscape of my city with its amazing arts and entertainment scene, and my incredible neighbours! I love exploring our little slice of paradise with my kids and my husband. (He doubles as my greatest cheerleader and finds my creative existence quite enchanting!)

Besides exploring, I’m passionate about the arts, social change, and writing. I started journaling when I was 10 and use it as a tool for self-expression, to gain clarity and to connect with myself. My penchant for storytelling is satisfied through my freelance work for digital and print publications, including my column for Peace Arch News called Building Bridges. Another incredible part of my career is teaching classes in community and rehabilitative settings; guiding others to write their memoirs or use writing to heal is something I feel blessed to do.

Wondering what you can expect on the blog? A little bit of everything!

I’ll be writing about local adventures and travelling, books, family, and lifestyle. Occasionally, food and fashion will make an appearance, too!

What else is there to know? I’m on a journey to become stronger and more fit before I turn 40 (that’ll happen in May next year!). I love to read and even co-founded a local book club (any suggestions on what we should read next?).
