You know by now that I love sharing things. Especially things (and people!) that warm my heart, lift my soul and make me smile. I share because I hope something lights a spark in you, moves you to action or simply brightens up your day. So, today, to celebrate a little awesomeness, I’m going to share with you 3 things that I recently came across that might do that for you.

This is part of the #3ThingsThursday linkup, hosted by Pink Chai Living, The Write Balance and Love Laugh Mirch. Go visit their blogs and check out all the other bloggers who have linked up at the bottom of their posts! #3ThingsThursday is a fun series to follow along and link up to – so if you’re a blogger, please join in! But first…check out my 3 things:

1. #hashtaglunchbag

This Sunday November 30, volunteers are gathering at The Electric Owl (926 Main St, Vancouver) to assemble sandwiches and pack lunches, then distribute them on the downtown east side. If this sounds like something you want to be a part of (and yes, it’s child-friendly so take your whole brood!) then please head down there by noon to start assembling. Distribution begins at 1 pm. Please bring a $10 donation to help with food costs. Also, if you have any used outerwear that is in good condition, bring it along and it will be donated to a local shelter.

You can follow these lovely people on Instagram @hashtaglunchbag_vancouver or send them an email with questions, or even a “Good job – keep going!” at hashtaglunchbag(dot)vancouver(at)gmail(dot)com.

This is something that happens monthly, from what I understand, so if you can’t make it this month you can always find out about the next one.

2. Just Between Friends Sale

‘Friends’ and ‘Sale’ in the same phrase – you know it’s going to be a fun time! This weekend (Nov. 21-23) the Croatian Cultural Centre (3250 Commercial Drive, Vancouver) is home to a LARGE consignment sale of baby, children (up to 18 years) and maternity items. I hear the discounts are like 50-90% off retail price! Learn more and get your free admission tickets HERE.

I thought this was worth sharing because I know you understand how quickly our kids grow out of their clothes, toys and accessories – sometimes without even using them much. You’re welcome.

3. Surrey Public Library – Dog Tales

This is a lot closer to my home and I’m super excited to be taking the kids there after school today! (Shhh…don’t tell them – it’s a surprise!)

You can book a 15 minute reading time slot with a St. John Ambulance therapy dog! Check out more information HERE – we’re hanging out with Lola this afternoon! What a great way to enjoy some reading time while encouraging an appreciation for animals. I’ll keep you posted on this and hopefully have some pictures to share 🙂 I’m also crossing my fingers that my son responds favourably! He’s been bowled over twice in his lifetime by playful, big dogs and although that has never stopped him from being friendly with canines, it’s the kind of thing that can go either way. The librarian assured me that the dogs are very calm (being working, therapy dogs) so I’m anticipating a good time!

That’s it from me for this week’s #3ThingsThursday linkup. Thanks for reading!

P.S. What have you come across lately that you’d like to share with me? Leave it in the comments! I love hearing from you!
