…you can’t help it. You were born that way.
I love this. I really, really love this. When the words came to me as I was creating my Make-A-Wave cards I was filled with this swell of emotion that could only be expressed with a great big YEAH! and of course, a giggle. The words are kind of cutesy but oh, the power that they hold! The background I created for this particular card was really fun and forced me to think in terms of wild, care-free, and bold. And I had to reach a little to capture these adjectives as I can’t say that they have ever been used to described me!
What do you think of the end result?
I’m quite pleased with it; every time I see it, I want to grab my tubes of paint and get creating again! It contains so much energy that I really hope is transferred to whoever is lucky enough to receive one. And after giving the recipient a shot of YEAH! they get to experience a double-whammy and pass the card on to someone else, or leave it somewhere anonymously. That feels awesome, too!
How would YOU feel if you opened up a book you borrowed from the library and out slipped this card? What would your reaction be? Would you giggle, too?
Or would you think, Well, that’s pretty conceited. Who says stuff like that?
Well, I say it. Why? Because I don’t have to look very far to see the kinds of amazing waves, changes, creations that come forth from every day people like you and me. As Martin Luther King, Jr. said “Not everybody can be famous, but everybody can be great because greatness is determined by service…You only need a heart full of grace and a soul generated by love.”
Every cell of my being tells me this is Truth. Chipping away at all the layers we don over the years, we are – at our core – creative balls of love energy. We are so good and we have this limitless potential to explode goodness all over the earth. We have an innate desire to help others, make people smile, and spread kindness.
Don’t forget to nurture that side of you; in return, it nurtures the heck out of you right back…even more than you can imagine.
I’m not going for fame (not that fame is bad – it can be used for incredible good). But I won’t let it be my reason for doing anything, ever.
Go for GREAT, go for FABULOUS. It’s just who you are.
Let’s start a list in the comments of anything that you have seen, big or small, that has given you a glimpse of how fabulous we really are. Have you witnessed a random act of kindness or been the recipient of one? Tell us about it below.

Strange that I have been thinking about style lately which is normally not my thought. I feel that soon I will need to look as fabulous as I feel because a lot of people will be looking at me. So hair, makeup, clothes etc. have been coming to my attention. Hmmmmmm
You ARE so fabulous, Katharine! Let it shine in whatever way you want! All eyes on you 🙂
